As soon as I got into producing electronic music I found myself wanting instruments and tools that didn’t exist so I took matters into my own hands and started developing my own. It started with little sound toys and soon progressed to complete instruments such as the Flow Machine. I’ve teamed up with Native Instruments to turn some of my inventions into products.
The Flow Machine
The Flow Machine has been evolving over the last 10 years. It started out life as a hyperactive DJing tool and evolved into a complete instrument for improvising electronic music. It’s at the centre of my performance-led approach. I’m currently working on the successor to the Flow Machine which will allow me to write a complete album of electronic performances.
The Mouth is a voice synth plugin with a bunch of tricks up its sleeve. It started out life in the Flow Machine and then I teamed up with Native Instruments to turn it into a plugin product. You can buy it here.
The Finger is a live processing FX plugin that you perform using your keyboard. It also started life in the Flow Machine and went on to become a plugin in its own right as part of the Native Instrument Komplete arsenal. You can buy it here.
Flesh is a live performance sound toy which allows you to transform sampled sounds into complete tracks with a suite of cutting edge sound processing engines. It’s another instrument which I created in collaboration with Native Instruments. You can buy it here.
